1:3 Finger Pointing
Industry news says:
"Merger talk aside - slowing subscriber growth is the real issue for XM and Sirius.
That grinding noise you hear is the slowing sales of satellite radio subscriptions - a key driver to both companies' elusive goal of profitability. Slower new car sales aren't helping any."
Really? Wow.
Reverse Finger-Point #1: Aren't you brain-dead idiots the ones banking on HD Radio being adopted because they're going to become standard in the car models?
Reverse Finger-Point #2: If two Satellite companies that require the purchase of additional hardware in order to receive their content (and they actually do have a decent variety of programming) are experiencing slow-growth, what does that mean for an industry also requires the purchase of additional hardware -- at 2-3 times the price of the Satellite devices -- and aren't delivering a fraction of the programming content? That's like charging twice as much for subscription to a new cable service that only delivers the big-3 networks.
Reverse Finger-Point #3: That grinding noise YOU hear is the locking of your mental gears when any thought is given to the idea of what will exactly be broadcast on these HD multi-channel stations. Ya can't program ONE station very well, and yer gonna take on at least two more?
Let me suggest a new brand name for HD Radio based on paraphrasing the great stand-up philospher Carlos Mencia:
"HD-DEE-DEE! RADIO"
